EXECUTIVE ORDERS RESTRICTING OFFSHORE WIND:
JSCC Letter to Van Drew & Smith

In November, in a letter to Reps Van Drew and Smith (see attached), who represent NJ shore districts, LBT10 Taxpayers Association joined 50 NJ municipalities and citizen groups in urging legislation and executive orders opposing offshore wind. On Day 1 of his new term President Trump issued this executive order halting new offshore wind leases. Existing leases such as for Atlantic Shores will be reviewed and cancelled or amended if necessary based on ecological, economic, and environmental factors. Also, as recommended in the letter, former President Biden’s executive orders EO 13990 and 14008, which set the goal of 30 GW of offshore wind by 2040, were revoked by President Trump. Further action is expected to repeal Federal Investment tax credits, which requires legislation. We will keep you advised as to developments affecting LBT10 members and LBI property owners.
